MY VOICE IS NOT / WILL NEVER BE YOURS

During O. Festival’s O. Lab '26 I took my first steps into a new world order.

I departed from the question ‘What does reclaiming my trans voice sound like?’

in order to find the tools to sing new, trans-feminist and inclusive musical landscapes.

To find my freedom I had to face my trauma having been through testosterone-driven puberty as a teenager and the effects it had on my voice. How I lost the joy and expression to sing and disappeared in the pain of a masculine-growing body.

With great help of Joia Rath we could discover how I wanted to sound and grow the self-esteem that I’m a voice deserved to be heard.

Together with multidisciplinary artist Clara Cozzolino we became two warrior priestesses who, through electronic music and improvisation, started building an alternative, queer world. For the trans voice is systematically suppressed in our society and my rights are constantly being threatened. We need a new shared vision that gives us the hope to move with determination into our future.

This research is only the beginning

I won’t be suppressed any longer

I stand up

I take in space and sing

I sing musical landscapes to imagine anew

I sing to rest, to heal and to dream

I sing to voice the ones that came before me

I sing for the ones that will come after me
